“We are 365 days injury-free thanks to HexArmor!”

“Our sliver puncture problems just disappeared when we switched to HexArmor.”

“We’re very pleased with the HexArmor product. We’ve had NO injuries in that area since it was implemented.”

Case Study: Wood Cabinet Manufacturer

After using HexArmor products, the Plant Manager at Wood Cabinet Manufacturer told us, “We’re very pleased with the HexArmor product. We’ve had NO sliver injuries in that area since it was implemented. (We had 4 in the few months prior.) And what is very important is the guys like it and keep it on….even in the hot Texas summers, yours is the first product that our guys will keep on 100% of the time…..they love the puncture protection and the fact that it is lighter and cooler than anything else we’ve tried. They wear the AP322, AS19S and 5033 for protection in the saw cutting areas.”

Case Study: Steel Manufacturing

A large steel manufacturer was historically averaging between 14 & 17 injuries per month at their sites where workers were wearing traditional safety gloves. Since they put HexArmor in place, their injury numbers have hit ‘rock bottom’, dropping to an average of less than one per month. The few they’ve had since then were not laceration related. This reduction in injuries translates into BIG-TIME savings in medical, insurance, etc. costs.

One group wears the HexArmor 9007s under big welding gloves. When they need to do a task requiring dexterity and feel, they take the welding gloves off and accomplish the task with the 9007 still on. Most injuries occur when they take the gloves off, so the fact that they can leave HexArmor gloves on and still perform the task prevents the risk of injury.

Case Study: 60% Reduction in PPE Costs

A large manufacturing company was using Kevlar® sleeves to protect their employees. The company was spending over $22,000 in arm protection each month. They tried the HexArmor® 19” Protective Sleeve (AS019S) and it outlasted the Kevlar® sleeve by months! The result was a dramatic 60% reduction in PPE costs. Not only did the company show a cost savings, but they reduced their injury rate. The HexArmor® sleeves are 4 times more cut resistant than the Kevlar® sleeves and up to 80 times more puncture resistant.

Case Study: Recycle Sorting

Recycle SortingEach year eight million syringe users will administer 2-3 billion injections outside traditional health care facilities. Imagine the amount of needles and syringes that are introduced to the normal waste collection process. One of HexArmor?s customers, a recycling company, is threatened daily by exposure to improperly disposed needles. HexArmor has worked with this customer to develop custom arm protection and hand protection to help prevent and reduce this deadly risk.

The design objective was to provide both cut protection (against glass, metal scraps, and other materials), and puncture protection (against needles and metal and glass shards). Through testing and evaluations, HexArmor was able to engineer products to meet the comfort, dexterity, and risk profile demands of each operation, while taking careful consideration for the customer’s economic concerns.

HexArmor is working continually on updating current products and creating new solutions for the waste and recycling markets. Check out the HexArmor PointGuard X or SharpsMaster glove for a great solution to this problem.

Case Study: Wood Handling

Wood HandlingWhen a large US manufacturer of engineered wood products had a safety problem, they called on HexArmor for a solution. During the manufacturing process, employees would routinely get puncture wounds from the sharp slivers of wood on the edges of laminated sheets. In fact, in one plant alone they had 18 puncture injuries in a month. They had tried every combination of PPE imaginable to fix the problem, with no success. This customer implemented the HexArmor SteelLeather glove and reduced their puncture and cut injuries from 18 per month to ZERO, and in the process, because of the outstanding durability of our products, reduced their PPE cost. In fact, in the six months since they implemented the SteelLeather, they have not had a single injury!

Case Study: Metal Fabrication

Metal FabricationA HexArmor customer had a very difficult safety application to solve; workers had to handle very sharp Titanium pieces. The gloves on the manufacturing line have to be highly cut and puncture resistant from sharp edges, while providing the dexterity required for safe handling.

The incumbent safety solution for this company was standard double palm leather gloves. However, the employees were consuming 2-3 pairs of leather gloves PER SHIFT because the gloves were shredding against the sharp metal pieces and creating cut and puncture risks to the hands. Working together with the customer, HexArmor was able to develop a glove combining leather and SuperFabric® brand material to meet the requirements of cut resistance, puncture resistance, and dexterity.

The HexArmor glove stood up for multiple shifts. In fact, it lasts up to 20 times as long. Not only has the risk and cost of workplace injury been reduced, but the company will also save money because the new gloves last 20 times longer than their previous solution!

Case Study: Pharmaceutical Research

PharmaceuticalAt a large pharmaceutical research lab, the risks of injury and infection from bites, scratches and needlesticks are significant. Hand and arm protection are critical, but they must not interfere with dexterity.

Through continuous product iteration and testing, HexArmor has developed unique safety solutions for the laboratory research and animal handling industry. We have over 100 customers using this product. We have developed gloves, arm guards, and full sleeves to provide the level of protection necessary against bites, scratches, and needlesticks, without sacrificing the type of comfort, flexibility, and dexterity the lab technicians need.

Through the use of our products, laboratory employees will continue to perform their jobs as safely, effectively, and efficiently as possible, but now with a higher level of safety.

Case Study: Poultry Processor

Poultry A poultry customer of HexArmor® had been using a combination of rubber and Spectra® for their hand protection, which provided practically no protection from the tips of very sharp boning knives. They were experiencing multiple injuries to the thumb area of the hand. Using a double layer of our SuperFabric® brand material, HexArmor was able to engineer custom hand protection to prevent punctures in the thumb area and the rest of the hand, while providing the dexterity needed to process the chicken. The customer has seen an increase in workplace productivity and a reduction in hand injuries.
