Why HexArmor® Products?

Providing safety and product enhancements has always been a series of compromises: cut
resistance but no puncture resistance, poor comfort, poor dexterity, inadequate grip, or little or
no breathability. Fabrics like Kevlar® and Spectra® have given us great strides in safety, but
they fall short in many of these important dimensions. In particular, what product can provide
cut, puncture, and abrasion resistance in a single product? Our product can be formulated to
have all of these unique qualities. As a result, we can offer performance that no other product
can match.

What is the Technology?

Every HexArmor® product is made with SuperFabric® brand material. SuperFabric® brand
material was invented by HDM, Inc. to be highly cut, puncture, and abrasion resistant. The result
is a technology so innovative it is being tested for use by the U.S. military and even NASA. The
“super” qualities of the fabric include significantly higher cut, puncture, and abrasion resistance
than most products on the market, including KEVLAR®. It offers all this and is 100% washable,
without compromising product integrity or dexterity.

How does the Technology Work?

The technology works by “trapping and blocking” the needle. Most needles strike a guard plate
directly, resulting in an immediate arrest of the needle. If the needle hits a “gap”, it is “trapped”
and then blocked by the layer below. The gap provides the flexibility required to allow the
material to bend and flex. Most applications can be handled with at least two layers. For an
extra margin of safety 3 layers can be employed.
