Goodwill Industries of Grand Rapids recently announced HexArmor® is to be honored as  Employer of the Year in the Medium Employer Category at the annual Power of Work Celebration in late September. The award is the result of HexArmor's involvement in Goodwill’s Workforce Development program, which helps people find employment opportunities where they can apply their talents, gain experience, and ultimately reach their career goals.

HexArmor® has been involved in Goodwill’s Workforce Development program for several years. Currently, Ben Stuart, Production and Global Quality Assurance Manager, is in charge of the program. “Overall,” he says, “it’s been great. We’ve hired several employees as a result of the program; additionally HexArmor® has participated in Goodwill’s Transitional Work Experience (TWE) program which provides Goodwill feedback on an employee’s ability to perform tasks related to general employment.  This valuable feedback can help the potential employee find future employment even if HexArmor® doesn’t have an opening available. We’ve had several success stories generated from TWE’s.  Goodwill has become a trusted partner, whenever I’ve got a position to fill, I reach out to Rich at Goodwill.”

Participating in programs like Goodwill’s Workforce Development program give HexArmor® the chance to give back to the community. HexArmor® employees also volunteer their time and efforts to other charitable organizations including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, and YWCA Domestic Assault Shelter.
